At Wartehalle Berlin, we combine culinary excellence with the refined atmosphere of historic brick architecture. Whether a seated dinner, contemporary buffet, or bespoke food concept – our kitchen creates tailored solutions that harmoniously integrate with the occasion, flow, and spatial character of your event.
We are committed to responsible enjoyment: we do not use endangered species, meat linked to rainforest deforestation, or ingredients that cause long-term environmental harm. All meat served comes exclusively from responsible, humane farming – with fully documented sourcing, breeding, and processing.
Beginning in 1897, suburban trains departed from today’s Wartehalle via Gesundbrunnen toward Pankow. To accommodate this, a dedicated reception building was constructed west of the grand hall of the former Stettiner long-distance railway station, known as the Stettiner Suburban Station, or the “Little Stettiner.” It was designed by railway construction inspector Armin Wegner.
On August 8, 1924, the first electrically operated S-Bahn train departed from here toward Bernau – a milestone in Berlin’s transportation history. Following the construction of the North-South Tunnel, the suburban station lost its function and closed on July 27, 1936.
The reception building, then located on Zinnowitzer Straße (today Julie-Wolfthorn-Straße), suffered significant damage during World War II and throughout the years of German division.
In 2011, the building underwent comprehensive and careful restoration. The historic brick architecture was preserved and transformed into a modern event venue – a place that today unites history, character, and contemporary event excellence.
